Self-Service Private Endpoints in the Dashboard
Private Endpoints can now be created and managed directly from the PowerSync Dashboard. Previously, provisioning required us to set things up on your behalf. You now own the full lifecycle: create the endpoint, accept the connection, and attach it to a PowerSync instance without logging a support ticket. This functionality is available for customers on our hosted Team and Enterprise plans.
Private Endpoints use AWS PrivateLink to connect the PowerSync Service to your source database without exposing it to the public internet. Treat them as one layer of defense. Keep strong database passwords and consider client certificates if additional security is required.
What's new
Dashboard Management: Navigate to your organization's settings in the PowerSync Dashboard to create, view, and delete endpoints. Each endpoint surfaces its AWS connection state so you can track provisioning progress.
The steps are the same for Postgres and MongoDB Atlas: configure an Endpoint Service in front of your database, create the matching Private Endpoint in the Dashboard, accept the connection on the Endpoint Service side using the VPC Endpoint ID shown in the Dashboard, then select the endpoint when configuring your database connection. Full walkthroughs for MongoDB Atlas and custom Postgres Endpoint Services are in the Private Endpoints docs.
Current limitations
Source databases: Postgres and MongoDB Atlas only. MySQL and SQL Server are not yet supported.
Cloud providers: AWS only.
Management: Dashboard only. CLI support is not yet available.
